Rescue Kitty

I did a little babysitting this week. The "baby" is growing up pretty fast. Here's a shot during feeding time on Monday... She (we think it's a girl - and yes, sometimes it's really hard to tell!!) was pretty much draining the entire bottle at each feeding.


At this point the kitten has been under our care for 3 weeks. Since her eyes were opened when she was found, we assumed the baby was about 2 weeks old then. Based on that, she would currently be about 5 weeks old. Time to start weening her off the bottle...... On Friday it was my turn to see if I could get the baby to start eating kitten chow softened in water. This is what happened.....

I didn't get any after photos, but she cleaned the plate!! I think she's going to go through a growth spurt very soon if she continues to eat for Chris. And that FACE!! Isn't that one of the cutest kittens you've ever seen? I have to tell you, my husband told Chris that if they didn't end up keeping that baby, we definitely would. Now is that crazy, or what!!?? Nope. Not crazy. But I know it won't happen. Because there's no way Chris is letting that baby go!!!
